Saving and Spending without Sharing can create a shallow existence. What might you think of someone who is wealthy but will not associate themselves with those they consider lower class? On the other hand what might you think of someone wealthy or not that volunteers in the food kitchen of a local shelter? Sharing comes in many forms. It may be a financial donation to a school, church, charity, individual, etc. It may be volunteering at the hospital or retirement home, cleanup day in the community or your own neighborhood. Ask someone who volunteers why they do it. Chances are you will discover that they receive more than they give. They feel fulfilled. This is one of the Quality of Life categories. It's your choice.
Many scholarships and job interviews will ask questions about your "OUTSIDE" interests. Not because they are nosy but in fact they know that a good student and/or employee has a variety of interests. Good morale and creativity stem from a variety of resources and a person who is fulfilled will bring stability and creativity to the school and workplace.
In addition sharing gives you control over your material things. It keeps you from becoming obsessed with material goods. Sharing helps you remain in control of your own decisions.
